Dear parents,

In order to encourage our kids to immerse themselves in English life and culture, we hope they use their creativity to decide what performance they would like to present at Win Win Year End Celebration every year.

Below is the idea that teacher Shawn, also known as our Creativity Advisor, would like to share with you.

親愛的家長您好，

為了讓全美的孩子能真正落實「生活美語」，每一年的YEC郝老師都會希望外師和孩子一起發揮創意，共同去決定這個班級要呈現什麼樣的表演，以下是Teacher Shawn想跟您分享的話。

"One of the challenges to teaching ESL to any age group of students is giving them the sensation of empowerment with the language. 

教外國學生英文其中之一的挑戰就是讓學生擁有使用語言的能力。

Children realize that using their English skills to communicate directly translates into a skill no different than learning a new sport, or a new craft.

孩子理解使用英文直譯的能力就像是學習一樣新的運動活是手藝。

I have always utilized the creative process in my classrooms, because I believe that through creativity, English is absorbed effortlessly.

我總在我的班級使用有創意的程序因為我相信透過創造力，英文可以輕易地被吸收。

My first evidence of this was when I realized how quickly even the students with the least amount of ESL experience were able to very quickly pick up the new words, phrases, and vocabulary through the medium of music.

我所舉的第一個證明是當我發現即使擁有最少外語學習的經驗，透過音樂，都能夠很快遞學習新的字，句子和字彙。

With the support of Ms Hao, I have decided to take the creativity further and introduce a movie making class to this particular group of students. 

經由郝老師的支持，我已經決定發揮創意且將電影課程介紹給一些特別的學生。

As a theatre actor, camera operator, and video editor, my experience in the field of moving pictures spans nearly a decade.

身為一個劇場演員、攝影師和影片編制，我在電影方面的經驗已近十年。

During the next few months, your child will be participating in a “real world” experience that takes them outside of the textbook, and into a highly creative field of movie making, where the same grammar rules apply:

在接下來的幾個月，您的孩子將會參與一個“真實的世界”的經驗，讓他們學習到課本以外的知識，進入一個電影製作的創意世界，同時我們仍然強調！

Out of all of my classes, I have selected this class that your child participates in to be my chosen target group.

在我所有的班級中，我特別挑選了這個班級，您的孩子可以參與這個課程。

Your child will be introduced to the following curriculum:

您的孩子將會上到以下的課程。

Story telling, story analysis and associated vocabulary, script writing, cartoon creation, story board creation, improvisational acting, miming, video editing , digital camera techniques, along with a multitude of brain storming techniques. 

說故事，分析故事、學習相關的字彙、撰寫劇本、卡通創造、故事場景創造、即席表演、模仿、影片編輯、數位相機技巧，同時還有許多動腦巧思的技巧。

We will learn extensive brainstorming techniques and games in order to come up with characters, plot and setting to create our own story from start to finish.

我們將會學習到廣泛的動腦思考技巧和遊戲來發掘角色、劇情、和場景，從頭到尾創造出我們自己的故事。

Beginning next week, one class per week will be devoted to this new endeavor.

下星期開始，我們每個星期將會有一堂課用來上這個新的課程。
